This is one Disney movie where making a sequel would actually make sense and they didn't do it (I know the movie was based on a book series, but they changed so much I consider it a separate continuity). So, I'd like to see a fanfic continuation of sorts focusing on Kay. I've gotten into Kay/ Bedivere lately (who were often fighting companions in the Arthurian legends) and I've been thinking about how this could work in Disney's version. My brain came to the conclusion that Kay would be very much in denial at first and be more of a jerk as a reaction.

The actual prompt: I like to imagine that post-movie, Kay went to Arthur, apologized for being such a jerk and made an effort to improve himself. This effort is kind of hindered when he meets a fellow knight called Bedivere, who lost a hand in battle, but is still quite a skilled warrior. Kay likes Bedivere in ways he should only feel about women, which he had tried and failed to do. So when he suddenly starts feeling something which matches other people's description of attraction towards a fellow man, he's very confused. Kay has no idea at all how to deal with these feelings and it all quite upsets him, especially because he has such feelings for a guy. Kay‘s reaction is to go into denial which manifests in him being a jerk, specifically towards Bedivere.
Bedivere is just confused, irritated and doesn‘t know what his deal is (maybe he could think at first that Kay is jealous of him because of his fighting ability?), especially with Kay having moments where he‘s not acting antagonistic and being rather nice. Merlin knows exactly what‘s going on and is having a laugh at their expense, especially Kay‘s.
When, after much tension and conflict, Kay kisses Bedivere one day, only to go basically right back to being a jerk and pretend it didn‘t happen, Bedivere is just exasperated (If you could fit in hate sex in there somewhere, that would be neat, but it's not required). When Kay is being a jerk once again, Bedivere has finally had enough: He silences him with a kiss, lays down exactly how much of an idiotic jerk he has been and tells him to finally deal with this situation like a mature adult.
That finally gets through to Kay, he cleans up his act and they eventually become a couple. The insecurity and internalized homophobia don't go away that easily, but he's making progress.

Specific things I'd like to see:
-UST during fighting matches, Kay getting hard while fighting Bedivere and desperately trying to hide it
-Kay being angry at his homosexual attraction because he's Ector's heir, he needs to continue the family line etc., the general attitude of society towards homosexuality etc.
-Kay having wet dreams about Bedivere
-Bedivere trying his best to remain civil and not to sink to Kay's level
-Ector being in there somewhere
-as I already said: Kay having rare moments where he's nice
-Archimedes giving his opinion on the situation alongside Merlin
-You're more than free to feature the usual cast of the Round Table and even make up your own knights!

Bonus:
-Arthur wondering what's going on with Kay and Merlin explaining it to him like he did during the squirrel transformation
-as I already mentioned: hate sex
-Kay angrily masturbating while thinking of Bedivere with a dose of internalized homophobia

Pellinore and Ector find comfort in each other and their long friendship after the deaths of their wives.

When Arthur draws the sword from the stone, Kay seems to have a realization and show guilt when he bows down to his new king. Ector apologizes on-screen, but his son, who treated Arthur far worse, doesn't get such a scene and that bothers me.
So I propose this scenario: Post-movie, Kay goes to his foster brother and apologizes for his past behaviour. Arthur, sweet and kind as he is, forgives him, of course. To show that he was genuinely sorry, Kay tries to turn his life around and become a better person. He's especially motivated after over-hearing somebody that claims he only apologized out of fear of repercussion for bullying the King of England. He becomes one of Arthur's most loyal supporters.
